Lizz Wright:
The Gospel of Jazz
Saturday, October 8th, 8 p.m.
Vocalist Lizz Wright delivers a sultry R&B performance that's divinely layered in gospel and jazz, and keenly similar to the work of Oleta Adams and Jill Scott. Wright was born in 1980 in the Georgia town of Hahira, and her musical tastes blossomed early on. Her father served as the pianist and musical director at the local church, and he encouraged his daughter to absorb the soulful dispositions of classic hymns. Eventually, blues and jazz were added to Wright's musical plate, and by high school she was earning awards in countless choir competitions.
Her impressive singing style was captured on her 2003 debut Salt. Dreaming Wide Awake followed in June 2005 and her third album, The Orchard, was released in 2008. In 2010, she returned with Fellowship, featuring guest performances from bassist Me'Shell Ndegeocello and vocalist Angelique Kidjo.
Tickets: $35 - $20
Pam Tillis
Friday, October 14th, 7:30 p.m.No matter where she wandered, Pam Tillis never lost her connection to country music — even when country began to lose touch with itself. Trends came and went, and though she rolled easily with the tides and drew something from every new twist, she was aware that changes come with a cost, even as the business side of country flourished.
Her response was to insist on writing and cutting songs that spoke from the soul, rather than the boardrooms and focus groups of the country music industry. The results have been records that emanate an almost painful beauty, as did her 2002 release, the critically acclaimed It's All Relative (a tribute to her father, the great Mel Tillis).
Rhinestoned marks the first album to be released on Stellar Cat, Pam's own imprint. With total creative control, she let her heart lead the way toward material that she could perform honestly and emotionally.

Who Shot J.R.?
Friday October 21st 7:30pmRAISIN AJ PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS……
In observance of October's Domestic Violence & Breast Cancer Awareness Month as well as recognition of any persons suffering from domestic violence or Breast cancer, Raisin AJ Productions presents "Who Shot J.R.?" This Stage Play was written by Clear Channel Power 107's own Miss Monique and is based on a true story. Kim Wyatt was in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend Ethan Floyd Jr., which was not only physical abuse, but mental as well. Kim as well as her friends all tried to keep this abuse a secret, until one or more mysterious individuals exposed the obvious and ended Kim's despair, but whom? What happens when a person reaches the 'end of their rope', 'loses a precious, gift' and 'can't take it anymore and decides to take the law into their own hands? Each person has their motives; each person has their alibi; but the question still remains, who shot J.R.? Although this play is loosely based on a true story, it has been fabricated for dramatic purposes only. Raisin AJ Productions does not condone, nor support violence. We hope that you will enjoy our Stage Production filled with beautiful singing, profound Spoken Word, as well as a hint of laughter. It debuts Friday October 21st 7:30pm at The Historic Imperial Theatre, downtown Augusta GA.
