Pants on Fire tells the story of Brad Spoofer, a pathological liar on a quest for glory. Brad quit the Feed Barn, Etc. back in Nebraska and moved to L.A. to become a movie star. His Hollywood career, however, has been a dismal failure. To save face, he's been telling his naive friends back home that he's a movie star. Hi-jinks ensue. Remember Me

Thursday, October 22, 2009, 7pm

Choreographed and directed for the stage by David Parsons, Remember Me is a high-energy mix of contemporary American dance, opera and rock music. Seattle Times writes "Both opera and rock fans are attracted to them because they show respect to the music they are co-opting." It combines the athleticism of Parsons Dance with the exhilarating live vocal performances of East Village Opera Company. The Chicago Tribune raves "nobody puts a fresher, friskier contemporary spin on opera's greatest hits than the East Village Opera Company." Remember Me is a thoroughly modern re-telling of a classic story of tragic love. With contemporary dance, aerial dance, live and recorded music, video projections, complex digital lighting and visual effects, Remember Me is the most ambitious production created by Parsons Dance in its 22-year history.

Mountain Heart

Friday, October 23, 2009, 7:30pm

Awarded "Bluegrass Band of the Year" in 2002, Mountain Heart's irresistible blend of youthful energy, unfettered emotion, and polished artistry has taken them to the top ranks of the music industry. Together, these musicians have created something unique in bluegrass—a band that lays bare the heart of traditional, driving bluegrass and bluegrass gospel, yet also touches a much wider audience with heartfelt progressive material that looks far beyond the durable themes of yesteryear. Their instrumental prowess is unmatched, yet they also earned an International Bluegrass Music Association nomination for Vocal Group of the Year in 2001.
