The Imperial Theatre has decided to take advantage of the unintended “down time” while the theatre is dark and continue the seating re-upholstery project, which began with the Mezzanine section in 2018. Beginning the first week of August the 1st and 2nd Balcony seat “toppers” (cushions) and seat backs were removed to be re-upholstered. During that process the remaining seat pans were painted, as well as the floor in both sections of the balcony. (Yay!) We have utilized existing funds from the Imperial’s Capital Campaign Fund, which is supported by Renovation fees derived from ticket sales and donations to support our efforts to fully restore the historic Imperial Theatre. We are inviting our friends and supporters to join us by contributing to the Imperial Theatre’s Seating Refurb Campaign, which will allow us to retain a portion of the existing funds for other exciting projects we have planned.
